Each July, more than 200 motivated middle and high school students step onto the Utica University campus to take part in Young Scholars LPP of Utica summer programming. While the focus of summer programming is on academic growth and career exploration, there’s no shortage of fun along the way! Students are exposed to life on a college campus by dining in the university’s dining hall, enjoying recreational time on the quad, and taking advantage of campus facilities like the state of the art athletics dome.
Young Scholars was founded in 1993, and is a year round, comprehensive program that supports Raiders in grades 7-12 achieve academic excellence. The program’s mission is to help students stay on track to graduate with a New York State Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation - and to ensure they’re ready for college, technical training, or the workforce.
Through academic support, college and career counseling, leadership development, and cultural enrichment, Young Scholars empowers students to reach their full potential! Young Scholars is a life-changing opportunity that has impacted over 1,500 Raiders!
