Shule ya Msingi

The Utica City School District helps students find their career path by starting early with STEM education. Through partnerships with local businesses, the district introduces STEM concepts to students from kindergarten through second grade with hands-on activities, such as building with LEGOs and using Dash Robots.

Students discover that exciting STEM careers are right here in our own community. Some of the leading partnerships are with local industry sponsors like Indium, Giotto Enterprises, National Grid, Wolfspeed, and Trenton Technology.

Innovative programs like the ABCs of STEM kits and the Student of the Week initiative bring these concepts into students' homes. These experiences spark curiosity and build a strong foundation for future learning in middle and high school CTE (Career and Technical Education) programs.

CTE is helping our junior Raiders build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and discovery.

In middle school, students in the Utica City School District explore new opportunities through hands-on, project-based learning. Here learning isn't just about knowledge, it is about taking the first steps toward a future full of possibility.

Whether it's coding and robotics in the lab, experimenting with FANUC robotic arms, or seeing how food grows on the hydroponic grow wall, they are experiencing education in a cutting edge form.

Events such as the STEM Expo at SUNY Poly give students a look at all 12 career pathways and a preview of the new Proctor Career and Technical Education Center opportunities. These experiences help students see how their learning connects to future options, while also building confidence.

Every class is designed to spark interest, giving students the chance to try, create, and discover. This pathway is part of a journey opening their eyes to new possibilities and giving them a glimpse of what awaits them at the new Proctor Career and Technical Education Center.

 

Shule ya Sekondari

Katika Shule ya Upili ya Proctor, siku zijazo ni sasa. Washambulizi huunda, kubadilisha na kuwawezesha. Saa Utica Kituo kipya cha Elimu ya Kazi na Ufundi, fursa hukutana na uwezekano.

Katika kipindi cha miaka miwili iliyopita, Utica Wilaya ya Shule ya Jiji imechukua fursa ya kufanya kazi na zaidi ya washirika 250 ili kusaidia kuunda njia ambazo zimejumuishwa katika Kituo cha Elimu ya Kazi na Ufundi. Zaidi ya biashara 250 za ndani, mashirika ya serikali, na mashirika ya elimu yalikuja pamoja ili kubuni njia 12 za kazi ambazo zinalingana na mahitaji ya jamii.

Mpango huu unatokana na mbinu ya wilaya ya K-12, ambapo wanafunzi hupata ufahamu katika shule ya msingi na kuchunguza chaguo za taaluma katika shule ya sekondari. Kufikia shule ya upili, wana msingi thabiti wa kufanya uamuzi sahihi kuhusu maisha yao ya baadaye. Wanafunzi wanaweza pia kushiriki katika matumizi ya nje ya chuo, uzoefu wa kujifunza wa msingi wa kazi ambao unalingana na njia waliyochagua.

The CTE Center aims to positively impact the city by helping students develop skills, explore different career paths, and create a successful future. The district is a leader in this work, aligning with New York State expectations for public education and empowering every student to succeed.

This initiative of a new C.T.E. wing addition to Proctor High School, shines a light on the Utica City School District as a leader in this work.
